How can I assese how medical and agricultural technologies affect society?
Most people can relate to a time period in 1908, a hundred years ago. Look up what kinds of cars they drove. Find the statistics for birth and death rates, crop yields and any other kinds and types of statistics that you can compare with those of today. Compare all those percentages with the amounts being spent on medical and technological R & D. I don’t know the answers. I’m just guessing that much more money was being spent on technological research than there was medical. Based on population and incomes, the country boasted of few millionaires. The increasing number of millionaires from one decade to the next led to the funding of major research centers especially when the hospitals, research centers and universities also began marketing “Naming Rights”. As the wealth of the nation began to accelerate in growth so too did research and developement. Most of this research data can be found in old almanacs like the NY Times Almanac, old encyclopaedias, Goggle.com and Amazon.com. Maybe
