If you feel that it is absolutely necessary to get a restraining order or report this person go for it. Just remember these kinds of things go on a persons permanent record, so if its just an angry friend or ex that is pissed, then think about it. However, if you feel that this is a serious matter and you are really in danger you can go to your local police station and file a complaint. If you have proof of their threats, ie e-mail, voice-messages, you can bring your evidence and the police will take it much more seriously.

Go to your local Superior Court’s office and tell them your situation, apply for a restraining order against this person. Give them a description of them so if you ever have to defend yourself it will be on file as self defense.
