How can i afford insurance, im 17 and the insurance is thousands more than the car?
This is a problem for young drivers. The only ways to cut down your insurance premiums are: Buy a car with a small engine size – 1 litre or less. Buy a low value car – £500 if possible Make sure the car is bog standard – no flashy wheels, exhaust or big sound system Live in a low crime area Park the car off the road at night – preferably in a garage Look for limited mileage and hours insurance Go for third party insurance only These are just some ideas, but at the end of the day your age is going to count against you I’m afraid. It’s all to do with the very high accident rate of young drivers, particularly boys.
