How can I adjust the throttle position sensor on my 86 s-10 2.8 two wheel drive?

there are three wires going to the TPS one is a ground and one is a 5 volt reference the other is the sensor return you will need a volt meter check your wires find out which is the 5 volt reference then take your meter and hook it up between the other 2 wires ( the ground and the return) read this you can then loosen the 2 mounting screws and shift the sensor to obtain the proper reading most of the time it is not necessary to change the sensor position unless the min air rate screw has been adjusted if the reading is way off chances are the sensor is bad hope this helps David
