First things first, create your theme – the simplest way is usually to take a copy of the standard theme which most closely matches your idea, then edit it how you want. Each theme must as a minimum consist of the following files: header.php, homepage.php, footer.php and config.php.inc – these files must also contain certain key information or the theme will not work. This is another reason why its best to use an existing theme as a basis for your new theme. Assuming you have now made your new theme, or at least taken a copy of an existing theme to customise later, select one of the following options: option 1 – the easy way, but not so safe!
