How can I activate Ndiswrapper in Kanotix?
Kanotix has all needed packages installed already: the kernel module and the ndiswrapper-utils. You need all driver files inclusive “Windows” inf-file for the driver that you surely can find on the install CD or download from the internet. Find them and copy them into a work directory on your HD. After installing a new KANOTIX kernel you should also install the ndiswrapper module. For that change to the directory where you have unpacked the kernel archive and use # dpkg -i ndiswrapper*.deb after rebooting you should also do # update-moodules Now change into the directory where the driver files where copied to and install it into KANOTIX with: # ndiswrapper -i driver.inf # ndiswrapper -a load the ndiswrapper-modul: # modprobe ndiswrapper and check, if it is installed correctly and if the access-point was found # iwlist s if you want to use WEP, you can now configure the card using netcardconfig. if you want to use WPA , (if supported by your card) you have to do some manual changes, fol
