How can head lice seem to appear almost overnight?
Head lice are very tiny and you won’t know the moment they climb on to your head. No itching or scratching for days, even weeks. All the while they are laying 6-8 eggs every day. After a week these start to hatch and 7 days later these new born lice can start adding their own eggs and you probably still haven’t felt a thing. By the time you get the first itch they will have laid a lot of eggs and plenty will have hatched so the first time you look you find an awful lot of little visitors. Big surprise!
