Hair and make-up are huge in enhancing the overall look of the show. When you really match hair and make-up properly to a show’s needs, it puts the actor in character a lot more, and it really helps them to develop the character a lot more. Further, if they don’t look the part, it’s hard to sell the show for what it is. Was there an overall look were you trying to achieve with the characters? A lot of the characters in Asylum had to look tired or stressed out, or even crazed. I used very subtle techniques, mostly around the eyes to achieve this look. I always feel you should keep it simple. What are the “must-have” items in your kit? Which tools and supplies seem to get the most use? I use my skin illustrator and special effects pallet by far the most in my kit. These are great for creating any kind of 2d makeup effect.
