How can Green Industries benefit the economy in all communities?
Van Jones, founder of Green for All and White House Special Adviser for Green Jobs, Enterprise, and Innovation stated that “the sacrifice zones of the last century’s pollution based economy should be the sacred zones of this new clean and green economy.” Much of the resources that will be harnessed for clean energy production and distribution are located in rural and traditionally neglected areas. Jobs in Green Industries will provide pathways out of poverty for residents of these areas by providing sustainable, good paying jobs. The current recession is largely attributed to the fact that the United States has stopped manufacturing products and has outsourced our products and labor. Green Industries are committed to stimulating the economy by keeping the jobs at home. Renewable energy production will provide millions of new jobs throughout the nation in industries that do not negatively impact the health of employees and will create products that the US can sell to other nations.
