How can Good Ol George oppose affirmative action?
Watson, Susan Michigan Chronicle 02-25-2003 Next to Clarence Thomas, George W. Bush is the last person in the western world who should criticize affirmative action. When he was just a gleam in his papa’s eye, he was the heir to America’s affirmative action programs. The more I read about his background, the more outraged I become over his hypocritical opposition to the affirmative action admissions policies in place at the University of Michigan’s undergraduate and law schools. You probably know this already, but just in case you don’t, here’s the skinny on Mr. Bush. He never would have been admitted to Yale if his daddy and his granddaddy had not been Yale grads.
