How can employees obtain RPZ permits?
If the employee RPZ pilot program is approved this Spring as part of the RPZ policy review, SDOT would issue RPZ permits to employees of Link light rail station areas. The program is still under development. SDOT currently proposed to issue RPZ permits to business and institution owners and managers located on or adjacent to streets with an RPZ designation. Each employer or business institution could get up to one permit per employee. Employers would be asked to provide a copy of the business license and proof of location within the zone. Employers would also be required to provide SDOT with an affidavit of employees receiving an RPZ permits and their associated license plate numbers. This information would be used in enforcing the zone. One decal would be issued for each valid employee vehicle, as well as up to two hang tags that can be shared between vehicles.
