How can documents from two different patients be linked?
There is a single mechanism for linking documents to more than one patient. The typical use case for this mechanism is the recording of documents regarding child birth. It is necessary to know information about both the mother and child. Under special conditions, a Submission Set can reference documents associated with more than one patient ID. The following rules apply. 1) A Submission Set shall be submitted with content belonging to only a single patient ID. The patient ID is present in the coding of the Submission Set and each document in the Submission Set. 2) In the initial submission (submission set with documents), the association object linking a document to the submission set shall have a SubmissionSetStatus Slot with value ‘Original’. 3) After a submission set is in the registry, documents can be added to it.
