How can Celtic attract a better quality of player to Celtic Park ?
It’s not just Celtic, it’s Scottish Football in general, there is just no money in it, the league is just not very attractive, foreign players I imagine, don’t often see it as a step up or in the right direction, playing each other 4 times, lack of competition (it’s either us or them). How can Celtic compete with someone like Spurs, Villa, Everton, Newcastle, Man City etc when it comes to cash, they will always outbid us and offer far more competitive salaries and transfer fees. The Premiership is also a far more attractive league to play in than the SPL, as is probably the Spanish, German, Italian, Portuguese and French leagues, for footballers, even the Russian and Ukrainian leagues, can attract top rated players, due to the money being banded about by these Russian oligarchs, that run teams like Shaktar and Zenit. Things like Champions League football and maybe a top rated, well known and respected manager, would enhance our chances, but again are we going to be able to attract one
