How Can Aromatherapy Oils Treat MRSA?
Aromatherapy oils may be able combat MRSA, according to researchers from the University of Manchester in the United Kingdom. The essential oils may be effective in killing the deadly bacteria. In addition, the essential oils were found to kill E. coli bacteria. Researchers tested 40 different types of essential oils, and two of them killed the MRSA bacteria, while one of them proved to kill the bacteria over time. There is a glaring problem with the research in that the researchers are unable to disclose which essential oils were found to be effective due to legal restrictions. The oils may be effective in cases of MRSA in which the bacteria travel through the nostrils. Inhalation therapy for the staph infection is currently unpleasant. Essential oils may prove to be an effective alternative that is much more pleasant for the patient.
