How can American Airlines change my flight after I already paid for it?
It’s in the contract of carriage you signed when you bought the ticket. “Schedule Changes” are an intrinsic part of the airline biz due to changes within the airline that might have to do with “reduced service to non-profitable cities,” or a change of the type of aircraft, or whatever, but the “Operations Dept.” of the airline frequently finds it necessary to change the schedule or cancel the flight all together for whatever reason they deem necessary. If the schedule change is not acceptable to you, the only option you have is getting what they call an “involuntary refund,” which means you get your money back, but that’s it. No other compensation will be offered…so… Either accept the schedule change…or get your money back and try to find another airline…those are your only two options…there is not a 3rd option…
