How can agencies use the LPM Demonstration data?
Before the start of the Local People Meter service, agencies can make any internal adjustments that they feel necessary, but agencies cannot use the demonstration data to execute a buy. Since we have funded a high quality, multi-million dollar year-long demonstration, we are making an exception to this decision after the LPM service starts in May 2002. As happens with any other market which transfers to a new methodology, all trending reported in the ViP and on the Published Data CDs will be based on the previous methodology. This will continue in Boston with the set-meter/diary methodology used in all trend lines in the Nielsen ViP books and software. However, once the LPM service launches in May, agencies, as well as any other subscribers, may use any demonstration LPM data that they have collected in-house over the past year for buying, posting or planning.
