How can a volunteer or board member arrange to have a rescue group or shelter use the Dog Park for an adoption event?

The unused Large Dog Area of the Park can be used for adoption events. If you want to arrange an adoption event, first e-mail dogparkinlafayette@yahoo.com to see which dates are available. Weekends are best for such events. If the adoption event is for the HSUS, they will have their volunteers come to the Park with their available dogs. If you would like to arrange an adoption event for a rescue group, the rescue group will have to sign a hold harmless agreement with the Park. Also, the ratio of volunteers to dogs can be no greater than 1:3 for the event, because the dogs should be well supervised. It will be important to make sure such events are publicized. Please use as many outlets as you can to get the word out: listserv, flyers, press release, free advertising for community groups in papers, etc.
