The Seagull IV water purifier was specifically designed for today’s contamination problems and incorporates sophisticated separation technology not available or not practical for use in large scale treatment. Most municipal treatment plants are well operated but were designed and built decades ago to handle what, in many ways, were simpler problems. They were not designed to handle chemical contamination, Giardia, Cryptosporidia, asbestos, etc. It will be decades in the future before these plants can be upgraded.
