Everyone expresses themselves in his own unique way, so I would say first that there is no single, correct way to release tension and stress. As long as your outlet of releasing this negative energy has no detrimental effect to yourself or anyone else, I support your consideration in wanting to complete this safely. It shows very responsible, mature thinking on your part. With that said, I will suggest ways that you can achieve what you’re looking for. I would generally categorize the two methods as physical and non-physical outlets of release. I have always found participating in some form of physical activity allows me to focus all my energy into accomplishing a goal, while still being able to enjoy seeing the fruit of my efforts pay off. I have found that negative energy derived from tension and stress usually translate into power and often acts as a source of strength.
