How can a mycologist earn some cash?
“The Mycologist” – the journal of the British Mycological Society – occasionally advertises positions for mycologists. Dr Brian Spooner is a professional mycologist working at Kew; the Forestry Commission employs mycologists to handle fungal diseases of forestry trees; Rentokil deals with fungal problems such as Dry Rot and almost certainly employs mycologists for research into such diseases. The jobs are out there but they aren’t exactly thick on the ground.
