How can a fruit pit despite strict quality control get into a preserves jar?

At Staud´s, fruit like apricots, cherries or plums are washed, pitted and sorted out by hand on a conveyer belt. Then a strict visual control of the divided fruit follows to remove any pits or pieces of them. If it should nevertheless happen, that a fruit pit mistakenly finds its way into your jam, then we ask you to please excuse this human error. Once the fruits are in the vat, their further journey is steered automatically. So any pieces of apricot pit or cherry stones wouldn´t be found with 100% certainty (at least not yet!) by technical assisting appliances, similar to metal detectors.
