How can a company best evaluate the benefits they may be getting from RPO?
Gao: To better control the recruitment process, the company should sign a Service Level Agreement (SLA) with the HR company. A SLA is a contract signed between the enterprise and a third party HR provider, which spells out the company’s expectations and requirements from the RPO provider. The company can then assess the performance of RPO in terms of the recruitment results, time spent and customer satisfaction. However, beyond the RPO vendor simply meeting the terms of the contract, the company should examine the performance of RPO sourced candidates versus internally sourced candidates. If the company uses KPI and performance appraisal systems (and every company should), then candidates sourced through a competent RPO vendor should score significantly higher than those sourced internally. If this fails to happen, then the company should consider finding an alternative RPO vendor.
