How can a classified employee become unassigned?
Per Article 27 in the PFTCE collective bargaining agreement, reductions in staff are done according to length of service within job classification. If a classified employee becomes unassigned, it is most likely due to one of the following: a. The employee has a less than half time assignment. Less than half time assignments do not have any seniority rights. b. The employee began working after the first day of their assigned work year. c. The employee has less seniority than others within the same job classification, who are unassigned.
