How can a Christian respond when a Jehovahs Witness says that Christmas is a pagan holiday?
One may wish to bring up several things, especially in a short discussion at the door. Freely admit that most holidays do have pagan origins, but so do many other things common to our culture such as our calendar. For example, titles of the days of the week and months of the year are all named after pagan gods. Additionally, the practice of wedding anniversaries, and the exchanging of wedding rings have pagan origins. Even water baptism, which carries much meaning for the Christian as well as the JW, predates the Christian faith.
