HOW CAN A BUDDHIST PASSIONATELY ADVOCATE A JEFFERSONIAN MILITIA (FERVENT GUN OWNERSHIP BY ALL AMERICAN CITIZENS)?
If you are asking this question, you probably have been fooled into believing that Buddhism is only something like what the Dalai Lama discusses, advocates. But the truth is that the Lama is part of merely one sect of Buddhism (Tibetan Buddhism), and he is a rather idiosyncratic representative of it, as well. Also, he is very modernized, as his many comments about science testify. This is the case with me, also, but I believe I more strictly adhere to the tenets and strict meditational pursuits of Buddhism than the Lama at least advertises himself to do. But at any rate, Buddhism is a huge religion, with all sorts of sects, and I subscribe to the Japanese, and specifically the Samurai sects, more than any others. These traditions are little known to Americans, who usually erroneously think that Buddhism = Dalai Lama.
