There are ways that a 17 year old can earn money online. You would have to be careful about scams and such, but you can earn money by:
1. Getting into Affiliate Marketing in which if you spend a great deal with it, you can earn thousands per month.
2. Freelancing, in which you can easily write articles for others, create websites for people and sell them for a few hundred – thousands depending upon how functional the site can be for someone, etc.
3. GPT (Get Paid To) sites are another nice way for you to make easy cash. You won’t make thousands with the sites, but you can make enough to pay for a cellphone bill if it’s not that expensive or just to have some play money for eBay and what not.
Put down your bong and pick up a classifieds section from your local paper, then go apply for a job in your area. You don’t have to like the work, just do it. I was 17 once, did this, made money and, like you undoubtedly will, spent most of it on weed.
Don’t expect to find a "good" or "fun" job. That can wait. At this point in your life, you’re having nearly constant fun when you aren’t working or in school, whether you realize it or not. The good, fun jobs will come, but for now just take what’s available, do your best and it will work in your favor when you go for a better job.
