It’s the middle of the holiday season so the airport itself will be busy. As for the drive it should be relatively empty on the motorways (relative because the M25 is always busy). Your main problem is whether roadworks appear all of a sudden (which they often do) or if there’s an accident. I’ve often driven the M40 and M25 at that time of day on a Sunday and had no problems.
