How broke is my washing machine?
It sounds like the timer switch; which is fixable, but sometimes not cheap. A good rule with washing machines, especially over 5 yrs old is fix them once or twice; but if they break down a third time, it is usually better to replace them. Unfortunately, they are not a cheap appliance, and have not come down remarkably in price, unlike consumer goods such a computers. Edit: excellent reference, backpackwayne.
