How binding is a research proposal?
All research projects change and develop as they proceed, and when composing your research proposal you should not feel that you will be bound to undertake the work in precisely those terms. However, permission of the Institute would be required before you make any substantive changes (for example, changing from a study of 20th century productions of Shakespeare to a critical study of another Renaissance playwright).
