A. A dog crate needs to allow for the dog to lie down without pressing on the side of the crate, to be able turn around comortably and stand up without haveing to duck his or her head. On the other hand they mustn’t be too big because the dog needs to feel cosy safeand this will be diluted if the crate is too big. If you are buying a crate for a puppy then you should buy the size that will accomodate him as an adult and reduce the available area by filling the crate or dividing it until he grows.
