How big is the USPS NCOA database and what kind of data does it include?
152 million records, on average, are contained within the NCOA file. It’s important to keep in mind that the only addresses that are added to the NCOA database are permanent changes of address. We do not add temporary changes to the file. Furthermore, if there is any problem associated with the new address to the extent that the new address cannot be Zip+4 certified then it will not be added to the database. Remarkably, every NCOA record consists of the Individual or Business name of the mover, the mover’s old address, the mover’s new address, and lots of additional information about the move.
