How big is the Fitchburg Fire Department?
The Fitchburg Fire Department comprises of approximately 80 personnel. The personnel fall into two categories: Full-time and part time/paid-on-call. The department utilizes all personnel in a variety of situations and capacities. All personnel are professional firefighters who strive to provide the citizens of Fitchburg the best services available. The department operates two strategically located stations that house two front line engine companies, two reserve engine companies, one ladder company, one heavy rescue company, two tenders, one wild land interface vehicle, one air/light unit and three command vehicles.
