Remind the students of the conversion of measurements to distances needed to find actual distances. • With overhead of a map of the U.S., have students use an overhead ruler to find the distances of all four sides of the rectangular state of Utah. • As a class transfer measured distances to mileage and calculate the area and perimeter of the state of Utah. • Allowing the students to work in groups of three (a triangular group) give each group a copied map of Bermuda Triangle and a ruler. • Tell the students “Beware of the Triangle!” • Give the students ample time to measure, convert and find area and perimeter of the triangular region. • The students will record their findings on a chart on the board to compare with the findings of other groups in the class. • Finally, list t
