They get to be pretty similar in size. Females will generally reach 10-14 and males will tend to get to 6 to 10. They are pretty similar as far as the care that they need, and the article that I posted a link to has very good information for both, though you will probably want to feed yellow bellied sliders more vegetation as adults. They will require at least 60 gallon tanks as adults, preferably 100. Breeder tanks are generally better because turtle tanks only need to be filled to about one and a half times the carapace length of the turtle, and they are less expensive than a tank with higher sides. Babies can be housed in a twenty gallon. These sizes are for a single turtle and you will want bigger enclosures for more turtles; outdoor ponds are always best if they are made properly. Both turtles are as easy to care for as turtles get, but pay special attention to lighting requirements if you keep them indoors because they need the UVB light that is provided by the sun to synthesize
