How big are the trout?
The Upper Colorado River is a premier freestone fishery and is known as one of the state’s best, containing large numbers of trout. The predominant species in this section of the river are Rainbows, which spawn in the Spring and Browns which spawn in the Fall. The trout will average around 13-15 inches, but 16-20 inch fish are abundant – and some are even larger! Cutthroat and Brook Trout are closer to the headwaters.
