How big are Sugar Gliders?
Baby Sugar Gliders are born about the size of a grain of rice, and the body of an adult Glider can grow up to 5-7 inches (with the tail measuring another 5-7 inches). When it comes to birth and childhood, there are a lot of similarities between a baby Kangaroo and a baby Sugar Glider. Both are called Joeys at their birth and both spend the first weeks of their lives in their mothers pouches. This desire to be in the pouch continues throughout their entire lives, and this is the reason why they love hanging out in shirt pockets, and other similar spaces.
