How best to patch a thin canvas tent with mouse holes in it?

Hi sorry to hear of your misfortune Just cut a patch to size about 4-5″ larger than hole. Turn edges in by about half an inch and press between thumb & finger to make a firm crease. Place patch central over the hole & sew it where you have turned the edges in, 2 rows of stitching. You will need a ‘denim’ or ‘jeans’ needle in the sewing machine. If you haven’t got a machine, and you have to hand-sew it, use a good thimble & a pair of pliers to pull the needle through the canvas – it’s a tough job to do by hand. Make sure you erect the tent fully & soak the patched area well, so that when it dries, the stitch holes will close up, and the patch should be waterproof.
