How bad is the Glucose screening test?
I just had my test this morning. It’s given to all women, regardless of family history, due to the fact that gestational diabetes can occur only while you are pregnant. I had mine in the fridge and that helped it a lot I think. I just got a straw and drank as fast as I could to get it over with! Mine was the orange flavor and it tasted like Sunkist. It wasn’t bad at all…not horrible like I expected it to be. The drink is really the only unique thing about the test. You’ll have your blood drawn exactly 1 hour after drinking it and it’s just like having your blood drawn for anything else during the pregnancy. Don’t worry! I have a bad gag reflex too, horrible morning sickness and I was fine! Blessings and Congrats!
