This is very difficult. You may travel in late March, April and May with minimum disruption if any because the rains are light or don’t come at all. For instance last November the short rains did not come properly (I’m writing this in early June 2009) and the the long rains were late and light but still coming so conditions for travel are pretty good (the farmers and herders are not so happy though). However the main problem with the rainy times is not that it is raining constantly (often there are several clear and bright days interspersed with the rain) but that the roads become muddy or impassable restricting access to some of the more remote areas and causing disruption to the travel plan. As long as you were understanding and flexible our guides would discuss the situations and other options available and we’d do our best to find alternatives to the scheduled itinerary.
