Well, the first is that your friend’s injuries will mend, it will take time but you will have your friend back in several months. His (or her) arm and leg will mend quicker than his hip, and he/she will need many physical therapy sessions to move again. I would say that your friend is lucky to be alive, it’s true but I’m trying to look the good side of it (being alive is really good but I don’t think you are optimistic sayin “your friend is lucky to be alive”, you know). The best you can do is being with him/her as most as you can and help him/her when he/she leaves the hospital and starts therapy, then your friend will need a lot of support to get better, it’s a critical time, he/she will need lots of support to do therapy and you will be there to help. Good luck and hope your friend heals fast.

Sounds really bad as you say it but its all injuries that will mend with hospital treatment, however it will be extremely EXTREMELY painful, could you imagine not only broking one bone but that many, he/she is lucky to be alive though as with that many injuries he/she could have died of shock, I wish him/her all the best and a speedy recovery, although it will probs be a couple of months before they can even leave the hospital and he/she will have great difficulty in getting walking again.
