There are annoying insects throughout all Alaska but they are easily managed by a combination of insect repellent, headnets, or simply ignoring them. Mosquitos are more common in early summer while no-see-ums and “white sox” (small gnats) more common later in the summer. We have a good supply of repellents but you are encouraged to bring your own.
