How are WOW books different to other readers?
WOW books take a different approach to producing beginner readers. For a start, we call our books “books” not “readers” because we believe they should look and sound like real books. They still do everything a traditional reader does in terms of the technical aspects, but they are also designed to be exciting, fun, and enjoyable. These are books kids to want to read! Our books are also designed to get young boys, in particular, excited about reading. That’s not to say girls don’t love them too, but we have focussed on producing books that specifically hook into the interests of young boys, as they can be at risk of being turned off reading. That’s why our books are on topics that boys find engrossing, and are full of wicked humour and cheekiness.
