How are women treated in Islam?
Women are treated with respect and dignity that is not found in many other societies. They have well defined rights as individuals, and as family and community members. Men are designated as protectors of women and are accountable for women’s rights in courts and on the Day of Judgment. Women may work, own businesses and participate in government. They are encouraged to seek education.
