How are women chosen as Inductees?
In order to be considered for induction, a woman must first be nominated. Anyone in the general public may nominate an American citizen or Native American for induction. The criteria for induction are set forth on the Hall’s official nomination form. The form is available by mail or on the Hall’s website at www.greatwomen.org. Nominations are fact checked and then sent to a national panel of judges for scoring. The panel of judges changes each year, and is made up of experts from a variety of fields. The judges’ scoring is final and approximately the top 10 scorers are then selected for induction every other year. In order to maintain an objective process, the Staff and Board Members of the National Women’s Hall of Fame do not participate as judges.
