Pat’s Place provides one central location for children and families and is the hub where representatives from Law Enforcement, Mecklenburg County Department of Social Services, Carolinas Medical Center, District Attorney’s Office, The Family Center, Behavioral Health Center, United Family Services Victim Assistance and Alexander YouthNetwork meet to discuss and make decisions about the investigation, assessment, treatment and prosecution of child sexual abuse cases. Without Pat’s Place, children were interviewed multiple times, in multiple locations by multiple professionals. Interviews, medical services, case management and crisis intervention are provided in our own bright and welcoming building. Other services are coordinated with community agencies.
