How are tidal waves and Tsunamis related?

They are not related! Tsunamis are waves created by water displacement. Usually by earthquakes, volcanoes or landslides. None of which HAVE to be underwater! They can be created by events above or below the water! A tidal wave (Tidal bore) is a tidal phenomenon in which the leading edge of the incoming tide forms a wave (or waves) of water that travel up a river or narrow bay against the direction of the current. They occur in very few places do to the fact that they are created by strong tidal forces along with shallow bays or rivers.
