How are things in Germany in general for tradeshows right now?
Things in Germany look OK for tradeshows, although everyone is taking serious looks at expenses and ROI. But tradeshows, especially leading industry shows, are still good opportunities to show customers that a company is part of a market. Q: Where have you seen the biggest impact of the economic crisis on Messe Essen? A: In the automotive sector. Our Essen Motor Show for the caravan and motor sector has been hit, as have motor shows around the world. But our E-world show for the water and energy sector is growing, as is Schweissen & Schneiden for the welding industry. So it’s been good and bad. Q: What is Messe Essen’s strategy to weather the economic downturn? A: There’s really no general solution to the crisis, but we must stay a part of our industries, be flexible and be a consistent market partner. The specific answers vary from industry to industry, but there’s no doubt that tradeshows are excellent marketplaces, and I believe in their effectiveness. Q: The venue at Messe Essen is
