How are they different to the schools already in Tamworth?
The key differences are that the Academy would be responsible for the land and buildings (but the council would retain ownership of the school site and would lease it to the Academy on a long term basis) and employ the staff directly. The Academy’s sponsor is responsible for the ethos and leadership in the school. On a day to day basis, the school is managed by the governing body and headteacher.
