UGA students pay in-state tuition and fees to UGA, and these funds are kept in an account in OIE. When an incoming exchange student comes to UGA, OIE pays that students tuition and fees with the outgoing students payment, effectively waiving the incoming students tuition and fees. Outgoing UGA students tuition and fees at the partner institution are handled similarly, waiving UGA students tuition and fees abroad.
