How are the traffic signals timed throughout the City of Albuquerque?
The majority of signals are coordinated through twisted pair (i.e. phone lines) throughout the City. What this means is the signals on this system will change patterns at different times during the day. Timing models are developed to determine what times would work best for different arterials; these models include volume data as well as lane availability for each intersection.
